The Olympic- and Wind-aspects will meet in a design for the new outer harbor. The disciplines of Architecture, Aerodynamics and Civil Engineering are combined in one design. The plan involves apartments, leisure and hospitality accommodations, facilities for various (top) sports, a yachting marina, a cruise terminal and, of course, an Olympic marina.

The design will provide for a proper wind-climate within the harbor. Its shape will be based on both architectural decisions and CFD-calculations. From a financial/ programmatic aspect the Olympic Games are (again) a catalyst and a design-theme. The intention is that the new harbor functions before, and after the Games. The Olympics should not be a stand-alone reason for development, since they are a respectable but very short moment in the total lifespan of the harbor.
